A LESSON PLAN
QUESTIONS THAT WILL BE ASKED THE CANDIDATE, WITH REGARD TO THE COUNTRY OF HIS OR HER EXPERTISE.
  1. Describe in a few words your Country.
  2. History – the influence of Immigration, wars, conquest and religion.
  3. Regions of the country, climate, language, and the racial differences and some of the different styles of dance in these regions.
  4. Knowledge of the basic steps, explaining and demonstrating the head, arms, feet and body movements.
  5. Music: Explain, the types of music, different rhythms, and interpretation.
  6. Costumes – Describe the design, ornamentation, and origin of no more than four of the costumes of the country chosen, and what general effect they have on the dance. [costume photo or sketch or the costumes themselves]
  7. Development of choreography and the reason certain patterns are used.
DANCES TO BE CHOSEN BY THE CANDIDATE
Associate member: Three Dances for Associate Members, with at least two different regions of the country, presented in performance.
Membership: Four Dances for full members, with at least three different regions performed.
The Dances may be performed by the candidate or by the students of the candidate.
